In late January, members of the Civic Leadership Program had the opportunity to engage with local and state leaders to discuss major issues in education and the impact on student achievement.
This session included an expert panel to help cohort members identify priority issues at each level of the system and discuss improvement strategies. Cohort members learned the critical components to school success and ways our local and state officials are working to meet the needs of our students and families.

"It was a great experience to attend today’s meeting and to see firsthand how the discussions align with the actual school environments. Being able to visualize what was shared added valuable context and made the conversation more meaningful."
Moderated by Erica Fields from Learn to Earn Dayton, the panel included representatives from Dayton Public Schools, the city of Dayton, Montgomery County Educational Service Center, the Ohio State University, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, and Learn to Earn Dayton.
