The Montgomery County Two-Generation Collaborative hosted the Policy Foundations and Mechanics of Influence Professional Development Session to help partner organizations equip their teams, align advocacy strategies, and build effective relationships with public officials in July.

The workshop covered the distinction between broad policy ("Big P") and internal rules ("little p"), legal boundaries around nonprofit lobbying versus education, assessing organizational comfort levels on the advocacy spectrum, and strategic timing for leveraging political capital.

Special thanks to the Policy Committee for planning the session and the Elected Officials, Policy Experts, and Organization leaders that shared their expertise with us at the session!
